Interested in becoming a Can Do Mentor?

At any given time, Can Do has experienced and committed mentors who reach Can Do high school students monthly at Peoria High, Manual, and Richwoods high schools within Peoria's District 150. Can Do Mentors are caring, committed, consistent, and collaborative. Can Do mentors Can Do students on campus, during school hours, in small groups, while leveraging the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers.

You can also email info@cando413.com or call Jennifer @ phone (309) 678-9607 to get started.  A mentoring leader will respond and help get you started.

Here's what you need to know:

1) Can Do mentoring is all about the students; our goal is to help them graduate and succeed.

2) We leverage the "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers" by Sean Covey as our mentoring model.  Thus, all mentors have a copy of this book as a reference.

3) We mentor monthly in small groups with the Can Do students, on campus, with a team of mentors.

4) We build respect and trust by listening to the Can Do students.

5) We identify ourselves as Can Do mentors with our green polo shirts every time we are on campus.

6) We ask each mentor to prep for less than an hour for all monthly mentoring sessions.

7) Mentoring sessions are typically 35-50 minutes.
